In the newest episode of ABC's Grey's Anatomy, Derek encourages a hesitant Meredith to work with him again in neurology; Catherine Avery returns to Seattle Grace with a urology fellow and develops an interest in Richard; Cristina becomes increasingly suspicious of Owen's every move; and Alex tries to deny the fact that Morgan may be falling for him.
After weeks of no new episode, Grey's Anatomy finally returned with a new episode tonight - only to go on another three week break! But despite that unusual scheduling, this episode was action and emotion packed and did a great job of asking when have you gone too far?
The episode started off with Meredith returning to work with Derek and Lexie in neurology against her will. She was relegated to a supervisory role during the surgery but when Derek was called away the two Greys made a call that ended up effecting their patients speech. That led to another appearance by angry Derek. This further proved that at this moment Meredith needs to stay in general surgery. MerDer may be working well in their family life but they're not still not on the same field at work.
Cristina continued to be plagued by her fears that Owen was cheating on her with Nurse Emily. When Emily was introduced in the prior episode (yes this was only her second episode), everyone wanted to hate her character because it felt so realistic that Owen would cheat on Cristina with her. When Emily gave her denial speech, I felt it lacked some gravitas but it alleviated that hatred off of her and now I'm a little sad that we won't be seeing more of her in the coming episodes. But that character hatred didn't just disappear, it was transferred over onto Owen - who at the end of the hour admitted that he did cheat on Cristina just not with Emily. This development isn't too shocking for his character but right now I'm just so curious to see who he actually did it with? Hit the comments with your best guesses!
This episode also featured the return of Debbie Allen as Jackson's mother Dr. Catherine Avery and she was used much more subtly than in her first appearance. She was a part of two plot lines - one with Richard and one with Jackson - instead of being the main focus of everything in the hour. Her presence was great for the overall episode and I am hopeful that she will return again in the future.

Side Notes:
- Only small appearances by Callie, Arizona, Teddy and April tonight which wasn't bad but hopefully we'll get more into their stories when the show returns on April 5!
- Loved the scene between Richard and Bailey as well as the residents all going to April's office for food.
- Alex and Morgan do play well off of each other and I could see them working as a couple but I'm unsure if that's exactly where this story is going.
