- Theater vet Andy Mientus (Spring Awakening) has been cast as a series regular for the upcoming second season of NBC's Smash. Mientus will play Kyle, a poor kid from Brooklyn with dreams of writing for Broadway, who is also best friends with fellow Season 2 addition, Jimmy (played by Tony-nominee Jeremy Jordan).
- The guys of FOX's New Girl - Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield and Lamorne Morris - have been announced as the hosts of the 2012 Do Something Awards on Tuesday, August 21 at 9 PM on VH1.
- ABC has renewed the Canadian-produced cop drama, Rookie Blue, for a fourth season. Production on the new season is slated to begin later this summer.
- Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies, Wicked) has been cast in a recurring role in the fourth season of CBS' The Good Wife. Chenoweth will play a top-of-her-game political reporter who will match with with Alicia and Peter as she tries to learn more about the Florrick campaign and marriage. She will first appear in the fourth season premiere.
