Tuesday, August 14 - Today's casting updates include new roles and upcoming guest stars on The CW's 90210; FOX's The Mindy Project and Ben and Kate; ABC's Modern Family and 666 Park Avenue; and NBC's Law & Order: SVU and Smash.
Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte will make a cameo appearance on an upcoming episode of The CW's 90210. He will appear in a scene, as himself, at a resort where Naomi and Max go to in an attempt to strengthen their relationship.
Vernee Watson (The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men) and Tom Wright (Crash, Martial Law) will appear on the upcoming new FOX comedy, Ben and Kate. They will play the parents of Tommy (Echo Kellum), Ben's (Nat Faxon) best friend. They will first appear in the second episode (airing Oct. 2) and may return later in the season.
Tommy Dewey (Step Up Revolution) will play a new love interest for Mindy (Mindy Kaling) on the upcoming new FOX comedy, The Mindy Project. He will portray Josh Daniels, a successful lawyer who is always going after things that he likes as soon as he sees them.
Kathryn Erbe will be reprising her Law & Order: Criminal Intent character, Detective Alexandra Eames, on the upcoming fourteenth season of NBC's Law & Order: SVU. Det. Eames, who now works for a joint City/Federal Homeland Security Task Force, will cross paths with the SVU squad when a connection to terrorism emerges during an investigation of a sex trafficking ring. Erbe will most likely appear in the fourth episode (scheduled for Oct. 17). She is currently only scheduled for one appearance but it is possible she may return later in the season.
Wendi McLendon-Covey (Bridesmaids) and Michaela Watkins (Saturday Night Live) will portray a lesbian couple on the upcoming season of ABC's Modern Family. They will appear in an episode where Lily gets in a fight with the ladies' son on her first day of kindergarten.
Without a Trace alum Enrique Murciano has landed a multi-episode role on ABC's upcoming drama, 666 Park Avenue. He will play Dr. Todd Scott, a handsome young surgeon who lives at The Drake and unsuspectingly causes friction between Louise (Mercedes Masohn) and Brian (Robert Buckley) when he frequently visits a recovering Louise. He will first appear in the fifth episode.
Wendy Moniz (One Life to Live) will also recur on ABC's 666 Park Avenue as Ingrid, Nona's (Samantha Jade Logan) therapist who tries to con Jane (Rachael Taylor) into getting Nona to open up to her. She will first appear in episode three, slated to air October 14.
NBC's Smash has cast fellow Dreamgirls actress Sheryl Lee Ralph to play the mother to Jennifer Hudson's character on the drama's upcoming second season.
NBA players Baron Davis, Amar'e Stoudemire and Danny Granger will be playing themselves on an upcoming episode of FOX's The Mindy Project. The trio will appear when Mindy and her co-workers go out to a nightclub and she finds her way into the VIP section to hang with them.
