Monday, August 6 - Today's casting updates include new roles and upcoming guest stars on ABC's Grey's Anatomy, Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 and Revenge; CBS' How I Met Your Mother; USA's Royal Pains; FOX's Raising Hope; The CW's Hart of Dixie and TV Land's The Exes.
Debbie Allen is returning to ABC's Grey's Anatomy to direct the third episode of its upcoming ninth season. Allen, who has helmed four episodes in the past, recurred last season as Dr. Catherine Avery, Jackson's (Jesse Williams) mother, who also had a small fling with Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens, Jr). It is currently unclear if Allen will also appear onscreen during the episode.
Broadway vet and country singer Laura Bell Bundy (Legally Blonde: The Musical) will appear on the upcoming second season of The CW's Hart of Dixie. She will first appear in the third episode as Shelby, a new love interest for George (Scott Porter). She is currently only slated to appear in two episodes.
Glee scene-stealer Dot-Marie Jones will make a cameo appearance on the August 22 episode of the TV Land comedy, The Exes. She will appear in a nightclub scene with all of the series' cast.
Thomas Lennon (Reno! 911) will appear on the upcoming eighth season of CBS' How I Met Your Mother as Victoria's (Ashley Williams) fiancé, who she left at the altar in last season's finale to run away with Ted (Josh Radnor).
Dilshad Vadsaria (Greek) has been cast in a recurring role on the upcoming second season of ABC's Revenge. She will play Padma, a gorgeous, intelligent, pop culture savvy financial whiz who has a job at Nolan's (Gabriel Mann) company.
Brooke Lyons (2 Broke Girls) will guest on a future episode of USA's Royal Pains. She will play Talia Clarke, a pharmaceutical rep, who likes to flirt to help her sales. However, her pitch to HankMed doesn't go well and the team wonders if she is sampling her own products. The episode will air on September 12.
Busy Philips (Dawson's Creek, Cougar Town) will appear as herself in the second season premiere of ABC's Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23. The premiere episode features James van der Beek trying to create a Dawson's Creek reunion but things go awry.
Wilmer Valderrama (That '70s Show, Awake) has been cast on the upcoming third season of FOX's Raising Hope. He will appear in at least three episodes as a love interest for Sabrina's mother, Tamara (played by fellow new guest star, Melanie Griffith).
