Wednesday, July 17 - HBO has given a series order to Togetherness, a single-camera comedy pilot written, directed and executive produced by brothers Mark and Jay Duplass. Other pilot credits include co-producer Stephanie Langhoff and Steve Zissis as an actor, writer and consulting producer.
The network has picked up the half-hour series for 8 episodes. The comedy will go into production in Los Angeles in early 2014.
The series follows two couples living under the same Los Angeles roof and struggling in their relationships while dealing with their individual problems. The foursome consists of Tina Morris (Amanda Peet, The Good Wife & Bent) who moves in with her sister Michelle Pierson (Melanie Lynskey, Two and a Half Men) and her husband Brett (Mark Duplass, The Mindy Project & The League), plus Brett's over-the-hill struggling actor friend Alex (Steve Zissis, Jeff, Who Lives at Home).
