Saturday, July 20 - Lost alum Naveen Andrews has booked a major role on ABC's upcoming fall drama series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. He will play Jafar - the main villain in the film Aladdin. The casting announcement was made today during the series' panel at Comic-Con with Andrews making a surprise appearance on the panel.Newcomer Lindsey Gort (2 Guns) has been cast on the upcoming second season of The CW's The Carrie Diaries - that has a major connection to Sex and the City. She will play the young version of Samantha Jones - one of the main characters on the HBO series played by Kim Cattrall. Her character description reads, "Samantha Jones, a ballsy, beautiful and sexy young woman from the panhandle of Florida who has made her way - and already a name for herself - in the rock 'n' roll scene of 1980s New York City."
Amy Acker has been promoted to series regular for the upcoming third season of CBS' Person of Interest. She plays Root, a mysterious and conflicted cyber-terrorist. She has recurred on the drama for its first two seasons. Her promotion was announced the series' panel at Comic-Con today.
Michael Jai White (The Dark Knight, Mortal Kombat) and Kevin Alejandro (Southland, True Blood) will appear on the upcoming second season of The CW's Arrow. White will play Ben Turner, a claw-wielding assassin better known as Bronze Tiger - and a member of both the League of Assassins and the Suicide Squad in the DC Comics series. He will form an unholy alliance with China White (Kelly Hu). Alejandro will play Sebastian Blood - a take on the iconic New Teen Titans nemesis Brother Blood. He is an alderman who rises to power in the wake of the earthquake that rocked Starling City. Blood's "man-of-the-people" popularity instantly places him at odds with Oliver (Stephen Amell), whose family he blames for the disaster.
