Friday, July 26 - Shannyn Sossamon (Mistresses) will co-star on FOX's event series Wayward Pines starring Matt Dillon, Carla Gugino, Terrence Howard, Toby Jones and Melissa Leo. She will play Theresa Burke, Ethan's (Dillon) wife who met him when she was a trainee in the Secret Service. She left the Service to raise their son, Ben.
Ashraf Barhom has joined the cast of the FX drama pilot Tyrant from Howard Gordon, Gideon Raff and Craig Wright. He will play Jamal, Barry's cruel, entitled brother and the next-in-line son of dictator Khalid Al-Fahed. He is married to Leila (Moran Atias) and is father to Ahmed, whose enormous upcoming wedding is what brings Barry and American family back.
Bravo has decided to pass on its first produced drama pilot Rita. Written by Krista Vernoff and directed by Miguel Arteta, the drama followed an outspoken private school teacher (Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn) who struggles to raise her own three teenage children while dealing with the inane bureaucracy and overprotective parents at her school. Josh Hamilton, Colin Salmon, Robbie Kay, Rafi Gavron, Anisha Nagarajan and Rhys Wakefield co-starred on the Fox Television Studios produced pilot.
