Monday, July 29 - Southland alum Regina King has booked a return appearance on CBS' The Big Bang Theory. She will reprise her role as the university's director of human resources in an early fall episode of the upcoming seventh season. She was last seen in an April episode trying to manage all the guys as they all fought for a tenure position.
Charlie Rose will be making a cameo appearance on the upcoming final season of AMC's Breaking Bad. He will appear in the penultimate episode of the series but it is unclear if he will be playing himself.
Danielle Brooks has been promoted to series regular for the second season of Netflix's Orange Is the New Black. On the prison drama, she plays the carefree Tasha Jefferson, known as Taystee, who is fresh out of Julliard. Additionally, Lorraine Toussaint (The Fosters, Middle of Nowhere) has joined the second season in a recurring role. She will play Vee, a long-time street tough who ran her own drug business and recruited children to serve as runners.
John Lithgow is poised to return to CBS' How I Met Your Mother for its ninth and final season. He plays Barney's (Neil Patrick Harris) do-gooder dad Jerry Whitaker and was last seen in two episodes in 2011.
Carrie Preston, Gary Cole and America Ferrera are set to return for multiple episodes of the fifth season of CBS' The Good Wife. Preston was recently Emmy-nominated for her role of Elsbeth Tascioni. Cole plays ballistics expert (and Diane's fiancé) Kurt McVeigh. Ferrera plays political aide Natalie Flores.
Aubrey Peeples (Sharknado) will recur on the upcoming second season of ABC's Nashville. She will play Layla, a runner-up in a big reality singing competition now bursting onto the music scene. She will first appear in the second episode of the season.
James LeGros (Ally McBeal, Girls) will recur on the upcoming third season of ABC's Revenge. He will play a priest who has ties to the Grayson family.
Steven Krueger (Pretty Little Liars, Anger Management) has been cast on The CW's new drama series The Originals. He will play Josh, a young tourist whose night out in New Orleans takes a dark turn when he ends up at Marcel's (Charles Michael Davis) bar. He will appear in at least three episodes.
Grimm vet Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio has joined the cast of CBS' new drama series Hostages. She will play the First Lady of the United States - a role played originally by Scandal's Kate Burton in the pilot. The series will re-shoot the two scenes that feature her character in the pilot. Additionally, she will appear in the third episode with the option to do more.
Tim Daly (Private Practice) will guest star on an upcoming season 4 episode of CBS' Hawaii Five-0. He will play a Texas Ranger. Currently, he is only set to appear in one episode but he has the option to recur.
