TV News - 'Grey's Anatomy' Shooter Joins 'Bates Motel'; Adam Ferrara Upped to Regular on 'Nurse Jackie'; Plus 10 More Updates!

Comedy Central announces return date for Brickleberry.

Greek alum joins a new ABC Family drama.

Plus additional updates for ABC's Nashville; Showtime's Trending Down (pilot); NBC's Parks and Recreation, Welcome to the Family and Girlfriend in a Coma (pilot); The CW's Star-Crossed; and FOX's Family Guy and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.


Charlie Bewley (Twilight, The Vampire Diaries) has landed a recurring role on ABC's Nashville. He will play Trey, a confident, charming and self-deprecating businessman as well as a new love interest for Juliette (Hayden Panettiere). He will first appear in the third episode of the season.

Michael O'Neill (Grey's Anatomy, Rectify) is joining the cast of A&E's Bates Motel for its second season. He will play Nick, Miss Watson's (Keegan Connor Tracy) father, who's a smart and ruthless charmer seeking vengeance on the person who grisly murdered his daughter.

Rhys Ifans - who will next be seen in the second season premiere of CBS' Elementary - has been cast on the Showtime comedy pilot Trending Down starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Kathryn Hahn. He will play Jonathan, Thom's (Hoffman) boss at the advertising agency.

Steven Weber (Two Broke Girls, Wings) and Scott Michael Foster (Greek) have joined the cast of ABC Family's upcoming new drama series Chasing Life. Both will recur on the first season but character details have not been released.

Adam Ferrara has been upped to series regular on the upcoming sixth season of Showtime's Nurse Jackie. He joined the dramedy series in season five as a new love interest to Jackie (Edie Falco). In the new season, his Officer Frank Verelli will learn that getting more involved with Jackie comes with consequences and he begins to wonder if he's in over his head.

Comedy Central has announced that the second season of its hit animated series Brickleberry will debut on Tuesday, September 3 at 10:30/9:30c.

NBC's Parks and Recreation has tapped June Diane Raphael (NTSF:SD:SUV) as the final player in its multi-episode Pawnee-Eagleton joint venture plot. She will play April's (Aubrey Plaza) Eagleton counterpart, who is "kind of a rich, boozy, Real Housewives type."

Lauren Bacall (The Big Sleep, To Have and Have Not) is joining FOX's Family Guy ever-expanding guest voice list. She will lend her voice for an early January episode that will deal with the death of Peter's mother. Bacall's character will be a friend of the deceased who forms a very close bond with Peter in the immediate aftermath - that is, until she starts making a pass at him.

Johnathon Schaech (Ray Donovan) will recur on The CW's new midseason drama series Star-Crossed. He will play Castor, Roman's (Matt Lanter) Atrain uncle. He is said to have a dark past as a radical militant but claims to have changed his ways recently as more temperate and pro-integration of humans and Atrians.

Eva Longoria will reunite with her onscreen Desperate Housewives husband Ricardo Chavira on an episode of his new NBC comedy series Welcome to the Family. She will play Ms. Nunez, Demetrio's (Fabrizio Guido) English teacher who once had a romantic history with Miguel (Chavira) before he married Lisette (Justina Machado).

Rapper-actor Kid Cudi and SVU alum Dean Winters have booked guest starring roles on an early episode of FOX's new comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Cudi will play Dustin Whitman, an ex-con that Jake (Andy Samberg) is convinced robbed a jewelry store. Winters will play Warren Pembroke, a detective for the Major Crimes Unit who has a rivalry with Jake.

The Devil Wears Prada director David Frankel has signed on to direct the NBC comedy pilot Girlfriend in a Coma. The project which was ordered during the regular development season but was postponed after Christina Ricci, originally cast in the lead role, exited the series.
