NBC's Saturday Night Live has tapped Cecily Strong to be the new co-anchor of Weekend Update alongside Seth Meyers. She will join the news desk in the September 28 premiere. The sketch comedy series has also confirmed that comedians Beck Bennett, Kyle Mooney, Noël Wells, John Milhiser, Mike O'Brien and Brooks Wheelan have joined the cast.

Punk icon Iggy Pop has joined the cast of ABC's new drama series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. He will lend his voice to the series as The Caterpillar. He replaces The Who frontman Roger Daltrey, who voiced the insect in previous appearances but was unavailable to reprise the role in the new series.
Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook) and Ashley Tisdale will appear on an episode of ABC's new comedy Super Fun Night. Weaver will play Pamela Boubier, Kimmie's (Rebel Wilson) overbearing mother while Tisdale will play Kimmie's newly engaged sister and a former Broadway showgirl.
