Lifetime has picked up a 13-episode second season of its supernatural drama series Witches of East End. The renewal announcement comes as Lifetime is going through a major transition period in original content - saying goodbye to Army Wives and The Client List while renewing Devious Maids and Drop Dead Diva.
"With its great storytelling and amazing cast, Witches of East End is leading a full-blown witch renaissance," said Lifetime EVP and GM Rob Sharenow. "The show's perfect mix of premium execution with content that is in the zeitgeist is drawing new viewers to Lifetime and we're very excited to be bringing it back for a second season."
The drama stars Julia Ormond, Mädchen Amick, Jenna Dewan Tatum and Rachel Boston and is executive produced by Maggie Friedman, Jonathan Kaplan, Erwin Stoff and Josh Reims. It is based on Melissa de la Cruz's popular novel of the same name.
The second season will premiere in 2014 with the first season set to run through December 15.
