Casting News - 'Playing House' to Launch in April; 'Jennifer Falls' Stages 'My Name is Earl' Reunion; Plus 4 More Updates!

ABC's Mistresses; FOX's Bones & Hieroglyph; HBO's True Blood; TV Land's Jennifer Falls; and USA's Playing House.





HBO's TRUE BLOOD
  • Riley Smith (90210, Deliverance Creek) is set for a major recurring role on the upcoming seventh and final season of the drama. He will play Keith, a sexy, rock n' roll vampire with a romantic side, a drummer in James (Nathan Parson) band who becomes smitten with Arlene (Carrie Preston).
FOX's HIEROGLYPH
  • After a lengthy search, the upcoming drama series has tapped Max Brown (Beauty and the Beast, The Tudors) for the leading role of Ambrose. Set in ancient Egypt, the series follows Ambrose, a notorious thief who is plucked from prison to serve the Pharaoh (Reece Ritchie), navigating palace intrigue, seductive concubines, criminal underbellies and even a few divine sorcerers.
TV LAND's JENNIFER FALLS
  • The upcoming comedy series is staging a My Name is Earl reunion. The Jaime Pressly-led series has tapped Ethan Suplee as a series regular. He will play Wayne, Jennifer's (Pressly) brother. Suplee replaces Joel David Moore who played the role in the original pilot.
USA's PLAYING HOUSE
  • The cable network will launch its second comedy series on Tuesday, April 29 at 10/9c. with two back-to-back episodes, immediately following reruns of Modern Family. Following the premiere, the series will resume with a new half-hour episode every Tuesday beginning May 6 at 10/9c.
ABC's MISTRESSES
  • Soleil Moon Frye (Punky Brewster) is heading to the summer drama to play a fictionalized version of herself. Appearing in the season premiere, she will be seen as a potential celebrity client for Joss (Jes Macallan) and Harry's (Brett Tucker) new party planning business.
FOX's BONES
  • Shohreh Aghdashloo (Grimm, 24) will guest star on an upcoming episode of the drama series. She will play Deena Vaziri, Arastoo's (Pej Vahdat) mother. Her persistent line of motherly questioning makes Arastoo fear that his parents don't approve of his relationship with Cam (Tamara Taylor).
