ABC's Clementine, My Thoughts Exactly & Untitled Kenya Barris; CBS's NCIS: New Orleans; HBO's A Teacher; NBC's One Big Happy; and TBS's Your Family or Mine.
ABC's CLEMENTINE
- Southland and True Blood alum Kevin Alejandro - who is currently recurring on The CW's Arrow - has been cast on the drama pilot starring Sarah Snook. He will play Charlie Madsen, Clementine's (Snook) ex-boyfriend and father to her young daughter, Lucy, a former bad boy who transformed into a responsible man when he realized he was going to have to raise Lucy on his own due to Clementine's personal struggles.
ABC's UNTITLED KENYA BARRIS PROJECT
- Hannibal's Laurence Fishburne - who is an executive producer on the ABC comedy pilot - has officially signed a deal to appear on the series. He will play the old school father of Anthony Anderson's leading character - a role which would be recurring if the project is ordered to series.
CBS's NCIS: NEW ORLEANS
- Lucas Black (the Fast & Furious franchise) will co-star on the plated spinoff of NCIS opposite Scott Bakula and CCH Pounder. He will play NCIS Special Agent Lasalle, who relocated to New Orleans as a kid and is a no-nonsense federal agent who believes in doing what's right no matter what, and a man who works hard and plays harder.
NBC's ONE BIG HAPPY
- Nick Zano (2 Broke Girls, Mom) has been cast as the male lead on the comedy pilot from executive producer Ellen DeGeneres. The project centers on two platonic friends since childhood, a lesbian, Lizzy, and her straight male best friend, Luke (Zano), who have been living together and have been trying to have a baby via artificial insemination for some time. They finally get pregnant - just as Luke meets and impulsively marries the love of his life.
TBS's YOUR FAMILY OR MINE
- Pilot Ordered - Comedy (Multi-Camera)
- Based on the hit Israeli comedy series of the same name, Your Family or Mine centers on Oliver and Kelli who are living proof of the adage "When you marry someone, you don't just marry them, you marry their whole family." It is a family comedy with an unusual structure - each episode focuses on a different side of the family - i.e. one week featuring the couple dealing with Kelli's family and the next spent with Oliver's. Veteran comedy showrunner Greg Malins (Ground Floor) penned the pilot script and will executive produce with Jamie Tarses, Rubi Duanias, Yaniv Polishuk, Avi Nir, Ran Telem and Tamira Yardeni. Sony Pictures Television and FanFare Productions will produce the pilot.
ABC's MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY
- Jade Catta-Preta (China, IL) has joined the cast of the single camera comedy pilot written by Jeff Lowell. She will play Amy, Dana's (Analeigh Tipton) former sorority sister who plays guitar, teaches yoga out of her apartment and trained to be a pastry chef at the Cordon Bleu.
HBO's A TEACHER
- Script Commitment - Drama
- Hannah Fidell's feature A Teacher from last year's Sundance Film Festival is getting a dramatic series adaptation at HBO executive produced by Jay Duplass, Mark Duplass and Michael Costigan. The project centers on a high school teacher in her late 20's in the midst of a torrid affair with one of her students. Fidell and Daniel Brocklehurst will pen the pilot, with Fidell also set to direct. Cota Films will produce.
