Development News - February 12, 2014

ABC's Damaged Goods, How to Get Away with Murder & Sea of Fire; CBS' How I Met Your Dad; The CW's The Flash; FOX's Red Band Society; NBC's A to ZLifesaver, Marry Me & Mason Twins; and TNT's Agent X & Guilt by Association.

FOX's RED BAND SOCIETY
  • Griffin Gluck (Private Practice, Back in the Game) has joined the drama pilot as a series regular. He will play Charlie, a smart, insightful and mischievous 13-year-old hospital patient who's been in a coma for a year because of an accident.
THE CW's THE FLASH
  • John Wesley Shipp - who played Barry Allen/The Flash in the 1990 CBS drama - has been cast on The CW's take of the comic book hero. He will guest star in the pilot but all details on his character are being kept secret. He will likely recur on the drama if it should be picked up to series.
NBC's MASON TWINS
  • Todd Grinnell and Bret Ernst have joined the cast of the comedy pilot starring June Diane Raphael and Erinn Hayes. Grinnell will play Kyle, Pender's (Raphael) former boyfriend who is now her boss at the pizzeria. Ernst will play Joey, the bartender at the pizzeria.
CBS' HOW I MET YOUR DAD
  • Actress-writer-indie darling Greta Gerwig (Frances Ha) has signed on to the starring role on CBS' spin-off project of How I Met Your Mother. She will play Sally, a female Peter Pan who has never grown up and has no idea of where she's going in life. She has just figured out that she has nothing in common with her husband of less than a year. A breakup is inevitable, but Sally will find a solid circle of support in her friends and family, who are often too willing to give "good" advice that can backfire badly. Meanwhile, Sally must filter out the input and decide what's best for her. Additionally, Gerwig will serve as a producer and, if ordered to series, an occasional writer.
NBC's LIFESAVER
  • British actor Jonathan Ryland (The Syndicate) has been cast as one of the two leads on the multi-camera comedy pilot - effectively lifting the cast-contingency order. The project centers on two polar opposites, the uptight Graham and loose cannon Leon (Ryland), who become inextricably linked after Leon saves Graham's life by giving him a kidney. Leon isn't oblivious to rules, guidelines and socially acceptable behavior, he just doesn't care about them.
ABC's DAMAGED GOODS
  • Steve Talley (Pretty Little Liars, Death Pact) is set as one of the leads on the single camera comedy pilot. He will play Jason, a lovable ladies man who sabotages all of his relationships.
NBC's MARRY ME
  • John Gemberling (Super Fun Night, Broad City) has joined the cast of the comedy pilot starring Casey Wilson and Ken Marino. He will play Gil, Jake's (Marino) best friend who's divorced and pines over his ex-girlfriend.
NBC's A TO Z
  • How I Met Your Mother star Cristin Milioti has landed one of the two lead roles on the single camera comedy pilot from writer Ben Queen. She will play Zelda, "the realist," a lawyer at a small, public-advocacy law firm. Alternately serious and hilarious, Zelda believes she controls her own destiny, loves being a grown-up and doesn't understand why anyone over 20 would go see an animated movie or eat ice cream sundaes. Destiny and fate are not in her vocabulary.
TNT's GUILT BY ASSOCIATION
  • Rose Rollins (The L Word) is the first to join the cast of the legal drama pilot from Dee Johnson and Marcia Clark. She will play Toni LaCollette, a stylish female prosecutor who routinely crashes at Rachel's place.
TNT's AGENT X
  • Jamey Sheridan (Homeland, Arrow) has been cast on the action drama pilot starring Sharon Stone. He will play FBI Director Stanton, who is inclined to be patronizing and disdainful, especially toward Vice President Maccabee (Stone).
ABC's SEA OF FIRE
  • Nashville recurring star Christina Chang has landed a regular role on the drama pilot starring Jennifer Carpenter and Jack Davenport. She will play the mother of the troubled boyfriend of the vanished girl who is suspected in her disappearance.
ABC's HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER
  • Jack Falahee, Alfred Enoch and Karla Kouza have been cast on the drama pilot from writer Peter Nowalk. They will play three of the students at the center of the project.
