NBC's THE PRO
- Parenthood alum Rosa Salazar has joined the cast of the comedy pilot starring Rob Lowe & Rob Riggle. She will play Jamie, the naive girl with a big heart who works at the pro shop as a receptionist. She has romantic feelings for the club's snack bar himbo, Chad, and has had her heart broken a few times.
FOX's DEAD BOSS
- 30 Rock star Jane Krakowski has been tapped to lead the cast of the single camera comedy pilot based on the BBC3 series of the same name. The project centers on overachiever Helen Stephens (Krakowski) who is wrongfully convicted of murdering her boss and forced to rely on her train wreck of a sister to prove her innocence.
NBC's BABYLON FIELDS
- Meagan Good (Deception) is returning to NBC with a role on this drama pilot from Michael and Gerald Cuesta. She will play Janine Beltran, a local doctor with an edge to her.
NBC's FEED ME
- Pilot Ordered - Comedy (Single Camera)
- From writer Sally Robinson (Lifetime's Steel Magnolia remake), Feed Me is described as a comedic exploration of adult intimacy and desire that centers on a dysfunctional family bound by love and the restaurant they run together. And when daughter Emma's husband has an affair, they circle the wagons to fiercely protect one of their own. Robinson, Paul Witt, Tony Thomas and Paul Hargis will executive produce. Universal Television and Witt-Thomas Productions will produce. Weeds alum Mary-Louise Parker is circling the lead role of Emma - the leader of the family clan.
CBS' MORE TIME WITH FAMILY
- How I Met Your Mother star Alyson Hannigan is staying at CBS for the foreseeable future by landing the female lead role on the multi-cam comedy pilot starring Tom Papa. She will play Cindy, Tom's (Papa) wife. She joins fellow HIMYM co-star Cristin Milioti in booking a role on a new pilot as the long-running comedy series is taping its final episode in less than two weeks.
FOX's RED BAND SOCIETY
- After receiving a slew of pilot offers, Oscar winner Octavia Spencer (The Help) has signed on to star in the FOX drama pilot - which already has an order to produce backup scripts. She will play Nurse Jackson, who works in the pediatrics wars, a tough customer who's an excellent, intuitive nurse and doesn't put up with any crap from anyone. She keeps her emotions hidden on the job, believing that anything she feels is nothing compared to the pain of her young patients. But despite her tough shell, she is profoundly sympathetic to the kids on her ward. Earlier this season, she was attached to star in the Murder, She Wrote reboot at NBC - which the network ultimately decided not to go forward with.
WGN AMERICA's NESS
- Script Commitment - Drama
- Based on Douglas Perry's biography Eliot Ness: The Rise and Fall of an American Hero, Ness will follow the real (and untold) story of FBI Agent Eliot Ness post-The Untouchables when he became the top cop in Cleveland, the most dangerous city in America during the 1930s. He spent the next decade fighting the mob, his own corrupt police department, and a serial killer on the streets. All while battling his alcoholism, serial philandering and the constant need for acclaim. The adaptation will be written by Dennis Lehane (The Wire, Boardwalk Empire) with Michael Dinner (Justified) set as director/executive producer. John Davis and John Fox will also serve as executive producers. Sony Pictures Television and Davis Entertainment will produce.
