Development News - Ioan Grufford to Topline 'Forever'; Krysten Ritter Books Lead on 'Mission Control'; Plus 9 More Updates!

ABC's Bambi Cottages, Forever, The Visitors & Warriors; CBS' The Mistake & Untitled Elmore/Cavill; FOX's Sober Companion; and NBC's Marry MeMission ControlOld Soul & Two to Go.




ABC's THE VISITORS
  • Revenge regular Barry Sloane is on the move - landing the male lead role on the drama pilot from writer Soo Hugh. He will play Wes Lawrence, a former FBI agent now with the special projects division of the Defense Department who investigates military threats that are best solved outside the public's knowledge. The role is in first position to Revenge - which he has starred on since season 2 - though his future on the veteran soap is still being determined.
  • Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes, Mob City) has also joined the drama pilot today. He will play John Doe/Drew Bennigan, a guy who is found unconscious in a D.C. alleyway who wakes up to discover he's lost his memory. He follows his tattoos to learn who he is as he is forced to live a life he doesn't remember.
FOX's SOBER COMPANION
  • Young comedian Pete Davidson (Guy Code, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) has landed a role on the comedy pilot from writers David S. Rosenthal and Jennie Snyder Urman. He will play Derek, Robert's assistant who doubles as a pot dealer.
  • Ally Maki has also boarded the pilot in a regular role. She will play Kamiko, Robert's ex-wife, a Japanese party girl who likes to drink.
NBC's MISSION CONTROL
  • Krysten Ritter (Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23) is finalizing a deal to play the starring role on the period comedy pilot. She will play Mary, the tough girl and head engineer who leads the Apollo team at Mission Control at the NASA Manned Space Center in 1965.
ABC's WARRIORS
  • Homeland Emmy nominee Morena Baccarin has joined the cast of the drama pilot from writer Chris Keyser. She will play Tory Sterling, a soldier and psychiatrist who is professional but personable, warm, compassionate and easy to talk to. She is returning to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center after a nine-month tour in Afghanistan as well as a husband, Clay, and a daughter. Something happened to her during her tour and she is finding it difficult to talk about it with Clay. She also began an intimate relationship while overseas with Dr. George Mann (Don Hany), who has also returned to the hospital, but she is determined not to ruin her marriage.
  • Also cast on the pilot today is Tony winner Steve Kazee (Once) who will play Tory's husband Clay. He's very patient with her need to adjust after returning home but he's also very aware that there's something she's not telling him.
NBC's OLD SOUL
  • Actor-comedian Nick Thune has landed a regular role on the comedy pilot starring Natasha Lyonne and Rita Moreno. He will play Nadia's (Lyonne) roommate and close friend who shares her offbeat sense of humor.
NBC's MARRY ME
  • Saturday Night Live alum Tim Meadows has been cast on the comedy pilot starring Casey Wilson and Ken Marino. He will play Kevin, one of Annie's (Wilson) two gay dads.
CBS' UNTITLED TAYLOR ELMORE & BEN CAVELL PROJECT
  • Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire) has been tapped as the male lead of the drama pilot. He will play Jackson, a smart, sophisticated, Wall Street hedge fund trader, who served his country in Iraq, and possesses integrity and the desire to do good.
NBC's TWO TO GO
  • Michael Stahl-David (My Generation) is in final negotiations to play the male lead opposite Christine Woods on the single camera comedy pilot. The project centers on longtime best friends Kurt (Stahl-David) and Laura (Woods), who grapple with the challenges of modern-day dating while their group of friends try and prove that they are destined to be together.
ABC's BAMBI COTTAGES
  • Molly Shannon (Saturday Night Live, Raising Hope) has been tapped as the female lead on the single camera comedy pilot (formerly Untitled Brian Gallivan Project). She will play Cathleen, the exhausted but loving wife and mother of the clan. She's a pragmatist in contrast to her optimistic husband whose impulsiveness can drive her crazy.
ABC's FOREVER
  • Ioan Gruffudd (Ringer, Glee) is set to topline the drama pilot from writer Matthew Miller. He will play Dr. Henry Morgan, New York City's star medical examiner who also happens to be immortal. Additionally, Brad Anderson has signed on to direct the pilot.
CBS' THE MISTAKE
  • Julianna Guill has been cast on the multi-camera comedy pilot from writers Shana Goldberg-Meehan, Scott Silveri & David Mandel. She will play Gretchen, the oldest child who has just landed a high-paying job as a consultant and is particularly embarrassed by her parents' surprising pregnancy.
