Development News - March 19, 2014

Amazon's Hand of God; CBS' Untitled Kevin Williamson; NBC's Feed Me; and TV Land's Teachers.

NBC's FEED ME
  • Ethan Peck (10 Things I Hate About You), Ed Quinn (Eureka) and Hart Bochner (The Starter Wife) have been cast on the comedy pilot starring Mary-Louise Parker. Peck will play Ned, Emma's (Parker) terminally adolescent younger brother, a culinary artist who tries hard to bring some sophistication and modernity to his family's decades old restaurant, but his menu changes only infuriate his dad. Quinn will play John, the eldest and the most cynical and ironic of the three Carroll children. Bochner will play Will, Emma's husband who is recovering from a heart attacked he suffered during an extra-marital tryst.
  • Emmy and Tony winner Debra Monk (NYPD Blue, Redwood Curtain) has also joined the pilot today playing the matriarch of the family. This will be a reunion for Monk and Parker who previously played mother and daughter in the off-Broadway production of Prelude to a Kiss and also appeared on Broadway together in Reckless.
CBS' UNTITLED KEVIN WILLIAMSON PROJECT
  • Nikita star Maggie Q has landed the female lead role opposite Dylan McDermott on the drama pilot. She will play Detective Beth Davis, the opinionated and obsessive, workaholic division captain of LAPD's Threat Assessment Unit who also narrates the story.
TV LAND's TEACHERS
  • TV Land has given a pilot order to Teachers, a comedy based on the popular web series of the same name. The project revolves around six elementary school teachers who are trying to mold the minds and lives of America's youth, but they don't really seem to have their own lives together at all. From making their class help them stalk exes online to altering a grade because the art teacher is "kind of a b****," these teachers are certainly changing the world, one student at a time. The stars of the web series - Caitlin Barlow, Katy Colloton, Cate Freedman, Kate Lambert, Katie O'Brien and Katie Thomas - will reprise their roles on the single-camera pilot. Community star Alison Brie, Matt Miller, Larry W. Jones and Keith Cox will serve as executive producers.
AMAZON's HAND OF GOD
  • Raising Hope star Garret Dillahunt is set to star opposite Ron Perlman in the drama pilot from writer Ben Watkins. He will play KD, a young man who went looking for religion to cure his raging temper. He thinks he's found God, but he is still a sociopath, and his temper is still raging. Harris Pernell (Perlman) is a godsend for KD, as he gives him an intense singular focus and an outlet for his violent tendencies.
