TBS Renews 'Ground Floor' for Season 2

Today, TBS has renewed its comedy series Ground Floor - which wrapped its first run in January - for a second season to consist of 10 episodes. Production on new episodes is slated to begin later this year.

From Warner Horizon Television, Ground Floor averaged 1.8 million total viewers, including DVR viewing, during its first season, with 1.1 million among the key demo and 575,000 among Adults 18-34.

The multi-camera comedy was created by Greg Malins, who executive produces with Bill Lawrence, Jeff Ingold and Jeff Astrof under Lawrence's Doozer production banner.

Set in the modern world of corporate America, Ground Floor centers on Brody (Sean Astin), a young, hot-shot investment banker who thought he was just having a one-night stand with Jenny (Briga Heelan), a beautiful woman he met at an office party. He discovers, however, that she works in the maintenance department for the building where he works. Suddenly their worlds begin to collide in the most unexpected ways. Facing Brody's critical boss, Mr. Mansfield (John C. McGinley), as well as annoyed colleagues, the pair must find a way to deal with their growing feelings for each other.

As the first season of Ground Floor ended, Mansfield forced Brody to make a choice between opening up the company's new Hong Kong office, or joining Jenny for a vacation in Paris. Brody chose Jenny, which may mean he's now out of a job.

Rory Scovel, Rene Gube, James Earl and Alexis Knapp co-star on the comedy.
