TV LAND's IMPASTOR
- Aimee Garcia (Dexter) and Mircea Monroe (Episodes) have been cast on the comedy pilot starring Michael Rosenbaum. Garcia will play LeeAnne, Buddy's (Rosenbaum) put-upon girlfriend who has new problems to deal with after he skips town. Monroe will play Alexa Cummings, the Head Trustee of Loomis Lutheran Church who hides a mysterious past under a sophisticated exterior.
AMAZON's THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE
- Amazon has given a pilot order to the drama The Man in the High Castle written by Frank Spotnitz and to be directed by David Semel. Ridley Scott will executive produce for Scott Free. Based on Philip K. Dick's novel, the project set in 1962 explores an alternative reality in which Nazi Germany and Japan won World War II and occupy the United States, with the East Coast controlled by the Nazis and the West Coast owned by Japan, and a chunk of the Midwest still up for grabs. Fascism rules and the few surviving Jews hide under assumed names. But an aging Hitler has one foot in the grave, and the Japanese are preparing for an imminent Nazi stab in the back. The U.S. Resistance is scattered, scared or crushed.
AMAZON's JUST ADD MAGIC
- The streaming service has also handed out a pilot order to the comedy Just Add Magic written by Joanna Lewis, Joanna Songco and Nancy Cohen and to be directed by Joe Nussbaum. The project centers on three 12-year-old girls and best friends whose lives change when one of them, whose passion is baking, discovers in her attic a strange old recipe book with recipes for baked goods that also have powerful spells.
