During its Comic-Con panel in Ballroom 20 today, executive producer Jeff Davis announced that MTV has renewed Teen Wolf for a fifth season. The new season will include 20 episodes (an upgrade from the fourth season's 12) and will air in two 10 episode batches.
Teen Wolf is a flagship series for MTV - especially now that it is considerably trying to expand its scripted portfolio with new additions Finding Carter, Eye Candy and Shannara. The fourth season debuted on June 23 with 2.2 million viewers and the season has been averaging around 1.7 million viewers
Teen Wolf was developed by Davis, who also serves as executive producer alongside Russell Mulcahy, Marty Adelstein, René Echevarria, Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley and Ian Stokes. The drama stars Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden and Dylan Sprayberry.
