Casting News - August 9, 2014
ABC's Grey's Anatomy; The CW's The Flash & Jane the Virgin; and Lifetime's The Lottery & Un-Real.
ABC's GREY'S ANATOMY
- Oscar winner Geena Davis (The Accidental Tourist, Thelma & Louise) has been cast in a major recurring role on the medical drama's upcoming eleventh season. She will play a new surgeon at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. (Could the show be any more cryptic?)
THE CW's THE FLASH
- Sleepy Hollow vet Clancy Brown has landed a recurring role on the upcoming drama series. He will play General Wade Eiling, the leader of a black ops team on the hunt for Plastique (Kelly Frye). He will first appear in Episode 5.
LIFETIME's THE LOTTERY
- William Mapother (Lost) will guest star on an upcoming episode of the dystopian future drama - with the option to recur. He will play Tyler Waters, an engaging, messianic tech visionary who presents a genuine alternative to the government, and a provocative vision of the future.
THE CW's JANE THE VIRGIN
- Bridget Regan (White Collar) and Azie Tesfai (Franklin & Bash) have been tapped to appear on the upcoming drama in recurring roles. Regan will play Rose, a beautiful trophy wife and a whip-smart former attorney whom the doctor involved in the insemination turns to for help in the face of a malpractice suit. Tesfai will play Detective Nadine Hansan, a fellow police detective and rival of Michael (Brett Dier).
LIFETIME's UN-REAL
- JR Bourne (Teen Wolf) and Siobhan Williams (Black Box) will appear in multi-episode arcs of the upcoming drama. Bourne will play Quinn's (Constance Zimmer) old lover and writing partner, who once had a drug problem but is now clean and running a surf charter company. Williams will play Lizzie, the new makeup girl on the show, and Jeremy's (Josh Kelly) fiancée.
