SundanceTV has quietly renewed its first scripted series Rectify for a third season late tonight. The new season is expected to premiere in 2015 - although an exact episode count has not yet been determined.
Created by Ray McKinnon, Rectify centers on Daniel Holden (Aden Young), a man who was released from prison after spending nearly 20 years on death row. After years of confinement, he must learn how to make his way in the outside world.
The drama also stars Abigail Spencer, J. Smith Cameron, Luke Kirby, Adelaide Clemens, Clayne Crawford, Bruce McKinnon and Jake Austin Walker.
"Rectify has evolved into a show much loved by critics and fans. As SundanceTV's first scripted series, it's gratifying to see such distinctive and unusual storytelling embraced with such passion," said Sarah Barnett, SundanceTV President. "Ray McKinnon is a true television auteur, and we can't wait to see where he takes us next."
The 10-episode second season concludes on Thursday, August 21 at 9/8c.
