This afternoon CBS announced premiere dates for the seventh and final season of The Mentalist and the sixth season of Undercover Boss. Both programs will bridge the time periods between the fall finales and spring premieres of Survivor and The Amazing Race.
The seventh and final season of The Mentalist will premiere Sunday, November 30 at 9:30/8:30c., where it will air new episodes for five weeks through December. When The Good Wife returns on Sunday, January 4 at 9/8c., The Mentalist will shift to the Wednesday at 8/7c. time slot on January 7. The series will conclude with a special two-hour finale on Wednesday, February 18 at 8/7c.
The sixth season of Undercover Boss will begin with three special Sunday broadcasts at 8/7c. on December 14, 21 and 27. On January 2, it will move to its regular Friday at 8/7c. time period.
"One of the goals this season was to keep expanding our lineup of year-round, original programming and have fewer repeat cycles," said Kelly Kahl, Senior Executive Vice President, CBS Primetime. "We're fortunate to have two popular, proven ratings winners in The Mentalist and Undercover Boss to seamlessly join our schedule."
Survivor: San Juan del Sur will reveal its latest winner on Wednesday, December 17 at 8/7c., with an hour reunion show at 10/9c. The season finale of The Amazing Race will air on Friday, December 19 at 8/7c. The spring cycles of Survivor (30th edition) and The Amazing Race (26th edition) will both premiere on Wednesday, February 25, each with a special 90-minute episode.
