NBC's GAME OF SILENCE
- NBC has given a pilot order to drama Game of Silence written by David Hudgins and produced by Carol Mendelsohn. Additional executive producers are Julie Weitz, Timur Savci and Tariq Jalil. Sony Pictures Television, Carol Mendelsohn Productions and TIMS Productions will produce. Based on the Turkish drama Suskunlar, the project centers on a rising attorney on the brink of success who could lose his perfectly crafted life when his long-lost childhood friends threaten to expose a dark secret from their violent past.
CBS' UNTITLED TOMMY JOHNAGIN PROJECT
- CBS has ordered a pilot for an untitled multi-camera comedy starring Tommy Johnagin. The pilot was written by Johnagin, Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker. Executive producers are Halpern, Schumacker, Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold. Johnagin is a co-executive producer. Warner Bros. Television and Doozer will produce. The project stars Johnagin as a stand-up comic raising a family in a small Midwestern town.
CBS' UNTITLED TONY PHELAN & JOAN RATER PROJECT
- CBS has also handed out a pilot order to an untitled drama written by Tony Phelan and Joan Rater. Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly also executive produce. CBS Television Studios and Timberman-Beverly Productions will produce. The projects centers on a smart, chic, successful defense lawyer at a boutique firm who shockingly gets involved romantically with one of her clients who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime.
TNT's BREED
- Nadia Hilker (Spring) and Amber Clayton (St. Vincent) have been cast as the female leads on the drama pilot starring Justin Chatwin. Hilker will play Ruby, a powerful assassin born of a long line of Eastern European hunters called Avelytes, whose life's work is to stalk and kill the dangerous creatures that are secretly infiltrating the population. Clayton will play Mandy, Detective Wells' (Chatwin) girlfriend who followed him from New York to Tacoma after he got fired from the FBI. Their intensely sexual, playful and happy relationship anchors Cooper's life, but could become threatened by the dangerous creatures targeting him, and by the secrets she's keeping.
CBS' SUPERGIRL
- Glee and Whiplash star Melissa Benoist has been cast as Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl on the drama pilot - which has a hefty series commitment attached to it. Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she's been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.
