Tonight, HBO has renewed its hit comedy series Girls for a fifth season - just a few days before the fourth season premieres. The announcement was made at Girls' fourth season premiere event in New York City by president of programming Michael Lombardo. The network quickly confirmed the news.
The upcoming fourth season centers on Hannah leaving New York City to attend the prestigious Iowa Writers' Workshop, Adam struggling in Hannah's absence, Shoshana searching for her first post-college job and Marnie trying to figure out the personal and professional dynamics of her musical partnership with Desi.
Lena Dunham created the comedy and serves as executive producer alongside Judd Apatow and Jennifer Konner. The cast includes Dunham, Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet, Jemima Kirke, Adam Driver, Alex Karpovsky and Andrew Rannells.
