Nearly 15 years after the film's debut, Wet Hot American Summer is officially returning - this time as an eight episode limited series for Netflix.
Plot details for the series were not immediately made available. The film's main cast - including Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon, Christopher Meloni, Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, H. Jon Benjamin, Judah Friedlander, Nina Hellman, Ken Marino, Zak Orth, Joe Lo Truglio, A.D. Miles, Marguerite Moreau, Marisa Ryan and Kevin Sussman - are expected to return.
David Wain and Michael Showalter, who wrote the original movie, created the series. Wain will direct, with the duo executive producing alongside the film's Howard Bernstein, Jonathan Stern and Peter Principato.
The film - set on the last day at a fictional Jewish summer camp in 1981 - was a box-office flop, grossing less than $300,000 but has since become a cult favorite on DVD.
