- Warren Christie (Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce) has been cast in a recurring role on the drama's second season - with an option to become a regular next season. He will play a new firefighter on the squad who is a childhood friend of Lt. Severide (Taylor Kinney).

- Singer Christina Aguilera will appear in a multi-episode arc on the drama's third season. She will play Jade St. John, a chart-topping pop princess who yearns to unleash her inner twang on a country record and might finally get the opportunity when she visits the Music City for a two-night stand.
