CBS' LIFE IN PIECES
- Breaking Bad alum Betsy Brandt will co-star opposite Colin Hanks on the comedy pilot. She will play Heather, the eldest of the three main siblings, a mother of three who is struggling to come to grips with how quickly her children are growing up.
CBS' JOE TIME
- Duane Martin (Real Husbands of Hollywood) and Eric Petersen (Kirstie) have been cast on the comedy pilot written by Bill Wrubel. Martin will play Theodore, a very famous and accomplished music producer who is Joe's neighbor. Petersen will play Scott, Joe's gay brother who works with him in the family construction business.
CBS' RUSH HOUR
- National Treasure helmer Jon Turteltaub has been tapped to direct and executive produce the hourlong action comedy pilot adaptation of the film franchise. The last three pilots he has directed have all gone to series: CBS' Jericho & Harper's Island and USA's Common Law.
CBS' DOUBT
- Orange Is the New Black co-star Laverne Cox has been cast on the drama pilot written by Tony Phelan and Joan Rater. She will play Cameron Wirth, a fierce, funny, competitive and compassionate transgender Ivy-League-educated attorney. The fact that she's experienced injustice first hand makes her fight all the harder for her clients.
CBS' UNTITLED CRIMINAL MINDS SPINOFF
- Daniel Henney (The Wolverine, Big Hero 6) has joined the cast of the proposed Criminal Minds spinoff. He will play Matt Simmons, an army brat who grew up abroad and really embraces the opportunity to explore different cultures. But first and foremost, he is the kind of guy you would follow into battle, and his split second profiling skills honed on the battlefield make him a crucial part of the team.
