Amazon Renews 'Bosch' for Season 2

A month following its debut, Amazon has greenlit a second season of its first hour-long original drama series Bosch starring Titus Welliver. The streaming service is also saying the series is the most-watched title ever on Prime Instant Video in its first four weeks. Season two will likely debut in 2016.

Bosch stars Titus Welliver, Jamie Hector, Amy Aquino, Annie Wersching, Lance Reddick and Sarah Clarke - all of whom are expected to return for Season 2. The series was developed for television by Eric Overmyer and is executive produced by Overmyer, Michael Connelly, Henrik Bastin and Pieter Jan Brugge.

Based on Michael Connelly's best-selling series of novels, Bosch centers on detective Harry Bosch (Welliver) as he investigates various crimes for the LAPD.

The second season will be based on the novels, Trunk Music and The Drop, with Bosch investigating the murder of a Hollywood producer who laundered money for the mob. He will also pursue serial killer Chilton Hardy, with his investigation taking him through the back streets of L.A. and Las Vegas, threatening his teenage daughter and ex-wife.

"We're delighted to see that Amazon customers have immediately embraced Bosch," said Roy Price, Vice President at Amazon Studios. "Fans will soon be able to enjoy more of this inspired adaptation brought to life by a remarkably gifted cast."

Connelly added, "I am very excited about continuing the Bosch story with season two. I love what we started with and I think our plans for the second season will make the show even better and more exploratory of the character of Harry Bosch. We have a great cast and crew, and we are all going to be one year better at this. I can't wait."
