Development News - Anika Noni Rose to Topline 'For Justice'; Carrie Preston Joins Suzanne Martin Pilot; Plus 15 More Updates!

NBC's WARRIOR
  • Holt McCallany (Lights Out, Blue Bloods) has been cast on the drama pilot starring Natalie Martinez. He will play Andriv Vorobin, a former prize fighter and expert in MMA, still formidable in the ring, who runs a gym in New York while also serving as the head of an international crime syndicate.
NBC's UNTITLED SUZANNE MARTIN PROJECT
  • Emmy winner Carrie Preston (The Good Wife, True Blood) has joined the cast of the comedy pilot written by Suzanne Martin as the female lead. She will play Martina Gunn, whose plans as an empty-nester with her husband (Patrick Warburton) backfire when their children and their parents move back home.
FOX's DETOUR
  • Ben Aldridge (Our Girl) has been tapped to play the lead role on the comedy pilot written by Jeremy Garelick. Also cast in the pilot today is Joey Morgan. Aldridge will play Michael Sturges, a charming rock star who makes the unexpected choice at age 30 to quit his band and go back to college. Morgan will play Walter, Michael's sweet-natured, brilliant but socially anxious/awkward college roommate.
FOX's UNTITLED DANA KLEIN PROJECT
  • Peter Riegert (Dads) will round out the regular cast for the comedy pilot written by Dana Klein. He will play Ira, Matt (Matt Letscher) and Jack's (Brian Austin Green) impatient, inappropriate and closed-minded Republican father.
NBC's UNVEILED
  • Dana Davis (Franklin & Bash) will co-star on the drama pilot written by John Sakmar & Kerry Lenhart. She will play Garnet, a cool, ambitious go-getter, chomping at the bit to get in the game and break through the veil to work with tortured souls.
NBC's PROBLEM CHILD
  • The Michael J. Fox Show alum Jack Gore will play the title role on the comedy pilot written by Scot Armstrong. He will play Bishop Martin, the son of Casey (Erinn Hayes) and Ed, who is known for causing trouble. He thinks the system is set up to work against him and that you have to fight back. He views adults as opponents, not enemies, and does not believe in the word no.
CBS' CODE BLACK
  • Luis Guzmán (How to Make It in America) and Raza Jaffrey (Homeland) have been cast on the drama pilot written by Michael Seitzman. Guzmán will play Jose Santiago, the affable but tough and strong senior nurse at the ER who is responsible for the four new residents. Jaffrey will play Neal, an excellent doctor who believes that connecting emotionally with his patients is critical and taking risks with their health is abhorrent.
ABC's BROAD SQUAD
  • Cody Horn (Magic Mike) has landed one of the four lead roles on the drama pilot written by Bess Wohl. She will play Lisa, one of the first female patrol officers in 1978 Boston.
FOX's LUCIFER
  • Lina Esco (Cane) has booked a regular role on the drama pilot starring Tom Ellis. She will play Maze, Lucifer's (Ellis) best friend, a fierce demon in the form of a beautiful young woman.
ABC's THE ADVOCATE
  • Elliot Knight (Sinbad) has joined the cast of the drama pilot starring Kim Raver. He will play Brett, the receptionist at the advocacy officer, who can sometimes be a bit clueless when it comes to dealing with potential clients.
THE CW's TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE
  • Kris Lemche (Emily of New Moon) has been tapped to play the lead role on the horror anthology pilot written by Jon Hill. He will play Newman, a weathered and tortured young man, the guide to the unsuspecting who come across The Darkside. Newman - a man with his own desperate, wrenching secrets - knows exactly what's causing the terrifying Darkside Events that drive the series, but doesn't know how to stop them.
CBS' FOR JUSTICE
  • Tony winner Anika Noni Rose (Caroline or Change, A Raisin in the Sun) has been cast in the lead role on the drama pilot written by Rene Balcer. She will play Special Agent Natalia "Nat" Chappel, a cool, laser-focused, tough as nails FBI agent who works in the Criminal Section of the Department of Civil Rights Division and finds herself caught between the radical family she was born into and the professional family she has chosen.
ABC's THE CATCH
  • Damon Dayoub (NCIS, Stitchers) has nabbed the male lead on the drama pilot starring Mireille Enos. He will play Kieran, Alice's (Enos) fiancé who conned her with a fake email and identity. He steals a large amount of money from Alice before taking off to be with his wife, Zoe.
CBS' LFE
  • Andy Mientus (Smash, The Flash) has joined the cast of the drama pilot written by Paul Downs Colaizzo. He will play Trevor, a second-year surgical resident. His hyper-vigilance makes him a fast reactor to threatening stimuli, so when a crisis situation comes along, he is able to rise above and save the day - though he will almost have a panic attack while he does it.
CBS' SNEAKY PETE
  • Giovanni Ribisi (Dads) and Marin Ireland (The Divide) will play the lead roles on the drama pilot written by David Shore. Also cast in the pilot today is Libe Barer. Ribisi will play Marius, a 30-something conman who, upon leaving prison, takes cover from his past by assuming the identity of a cellmate, "Sneaky Pete." Ireland will play Julia, the real Pete's first cousin, a witty single mother of two who is running the family's bail bond business and who has her suspicion about "Pete's" real motives. Barer will play Carly, Julia's younger sister who is always looking for trouble and eventually finding it.
CBS' THE HALF OF IT
  • Jon Dore (How to Live With Your Parents) has landed the lead role on the comedy pilot written by Mike Gibbons. He will play Mike, a newly divorced dad who revels in the fact that he now gets to keep half of his stuff, which is more than he ever had when he was married. Mike is dealing with mixed feelings though: half of him is the excited, upbeat single guy and the other half is the single dad who is in way over his head.
ABC's OF KINGS AND PROPHETS
  • BAFTA nominee Ray Winstone (That Summer, Nil by Mouth) has been cast on the drama pilot written by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage. He will play King Saul, the first king of Israel who is suffering from what today would be considered bipolar disorder as well as PTSD.
