Development News - Martha Plimpton Joins 'Family of the Year'; Florence Pugh Books 'Studio City' Lead; Plus 12 More Updates!

ABC's Chev & Bev, Family of the Year & L.A. Crime; CBS' Code Black; FOX's Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life, DeTour & Studio City; HBO's Mamma Dallas; NBC's Cuckoo, The Curse of the Fuentes Women, Endgame, Love Is a Four Letter Word & Untitled Suzanne Martin; and The CW's Cordon.


NBC's LOVE IS A FOUR LETTER WORD
  • Meta Golding (The Hunger Games), Monet Mazur (Castle) and Colin Donnell (The Affair) have been cast on the drama pilot written by Diana Son. Golding will play Julie, a successful attorney as well as Nick's (Rockmund Dunbar) ex-wife and the mother of his two children. Mazur will play Fiona, the sexy siren who broke up Nick and Julie's marriage, and subsequently married Nick. Donnell will play Sean, Nick's long-time friend and ad agency partner, who is happily married to Tandi (Cynthia McWilliams).
FOX's STUDIO CITY
  • Newcomer Florence Pugh (The Falling) will play the lead role on dramedy pilot starring Eric McCormack. Also cast in the pilot today is Jeanine Mason (So You Think You Can Dance). Pugh will play Cat, the rising singer-songwriter whose family life has been a celebration of dysfunction. She is a survivor with a sense of humor and romanticism despite an unstable alcoholic mother and a drug-dealing musician father (McCormack). Mason will play Zoe, Stevie's (Heather Graham) child from a previous relationship with a Latin lover. A brilliant, code-writing college student in financial trouble, she's just moved back home, but lives in the garage.
THE CW's CORDON
  • Hanna Mangan Lawrence (Spartacus) has landed a regular role on the drama pilot written by Julie Plec. She will play Teresa, a pregnant teenager eager to escape her mother's judgment by running away with her boyfriend but just misses her opportunity to leave the quarantine zone.
ABC's L.A. CRIME
  • Ripper Street star Adam Rothenberg is set as one of the two leads on the drama pilot written by Steven Baigelamn. Also cast on the pilot today is Holley Fain. Rothenberg will play Jack Roth, a Los Angeles cop searching for a Bonnie & Clyde-esque serial killing team. Fain will play Roth's loving and protective wife.
ABC's CHEV & BEV
  • Aly Michalka (Hellcats), Maulik Pancholy (30 Rock) and Grace Kaufman (Bad Teacher) will co-star on the comedy pilot starring Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo. Michalka will play Molly, Chev (Chase) and Bev's (D'Angelo) sourpuss daughter. Pancholy will play Molly's medical student boyfriend. Kaufman will play one of the couple's grandchildren.
NBC's CUCKOO
  • Griffin Gluck (Red Band Society, Private Practice) has been cast on the comedy pilot starring Flula Borg. He will play Dylan, Ken and Lori's youngest child that has completely embraced life in his older sister's shadow through he still holds it against her every chance he gets.
NBC's UNTITLED SUZANNE MARTIN PROJECT
  • Mia Serafino (Ken Jeong Made Me Do It) has booked a regular role on the comedy pilot written by Suzanne Martin. She will play Stella, a charming, struggling actress.
HBO's MAMMA DALLAS
  • Real-life siblings Talitha Bateman and Gabriel Bateman have joined the cast of the comedy pilot starring Augustus Prew. They will play the children who are cared for by Liberty (Prew).
FOX's COOPER BARRETT'S GUIDE TO SURVIVING LIFE
  • Jack Cutmore-Scott (Cabot College) has been tapped to play the title role on the comedy pilot written by Jay Lacopo. He will play Cooper Barrett, who, during a particularly disastrous experience, decides it's time somebody let the under 20 crowd know about the unexpected challenges of post-college life.
FOX's DETOUR
  • Peter Gallagher (Covert Affairs) and Olivia Thirlby (The Wedding Ringer) will co-star on the comedy pilot starring Ben Aldridge. Gallagher will play Professor Zaring, a respected and feared instructor and with whom Michael (Aldridge) has a contentious relationship. Thirlby will play Gabrielle, Zaring's teaching assistant.
NBC's ENDGAME
  • Charity Wakefield (Wolf Hall) has landed the female lead on the drama pilot starring Philip Winchester and Wesley Snipes. She will play Cassandra, a rule-breaker who aids Alex (Winchester) in his quest even as she manipulates him for her own secret agenda. A whip-smart tech genius with her own history in the intelligence and counter-terrorist world, she is far more dangerous than she at first appears to be.
CBS' CODE BLACK
  • Ben Hollingsworth (Cult) has joined the cast of the drama pilot starring Maggie Smith and Marcia Gay Harden. He will play Mario, an eager and cocky new resident in the E.R.
NBC's THE CURSE OF THE FUENTES WOMEN
  • Christina Vidal (Taina) and Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent) have been cast on the drama pilot written by Silvio Horta. Vidal will play Lola Fuentes, a beautiful but lonely woman who has given up on love and dedicated herself to caring for her daughter Soledad (Katie Sarife), her mother Esperanza (Rachel Ticotin) and their floundering family restaurant. Rubin-Vega will play Remelda, a Santeria priestess who lives with and acts as an adviser to Orquidia, Esperanza's estranged sister.
ABC's FAMILY OF THE YEAR
  • Raising Hope alum Martha Plimpton has nabbed a lead role on the comedy pilot written by David Windsor and Casey Johnson. She will play Eileen O'Neal, Danny's (Noah Galvin) mother, the "perfect mother" who in reality has a marriage on the rocks and is liberated when she comes clean about her efforts to be perfect.
