Syfy Renews '12 Monkeys' for Season 2

Syfy announced today a second season renewal for drama 12 Monkeys starring Aaron Stanford and Amanda Schull. The first season ends on April 10, with the second season set to debut in 2016.






With Natalie Chaidez prepping her next Syfy drama (Hunters), Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett - co-executive producers and writers of the pilot - will be stepping up to serve as showrunners on the second season. Richard Suckle and Charles Roven will continue to executive produce, with Jake Kurily producing.

12 Monkeys stars Aaron Stanford, Amanda Schull, Kirk Acevedo and Noah Bean, with guest stars Emily Hampshire, Barbara Sukowa and Tom Noonan. Universal Cable Productions and Atlas Entertainment produce.

Currently in its first season, 12 Monkeys is experiencing record Live+3 lifts for the network (averaging gains of 104%). The renewal also comes as the series continues to gain momentum, with its most recent episode on March 6 seeing an increase of 6% over the prior four weeks, with 1.5 million total viewers.
