After some lengthy negotiations with 20th Century Fox Television, ABC has finally closed a deal for sitcom Last Man Standing starring Tim Allen to return for a fifth season.
Last week, in anticipation of this fifth season renewal, the veteran comedy signed a deal with series co-executive producer Matt Berry to serve as the showrunner for the fifth season. He will succeed Tim Doyle, who is moving on after three years at the helm of the comedy.
Season 5 of Last Man Standing joins an ABC comedy lineup that includes returning shows black-ish, Fresh Off the Boat, Galavant, The Goldbergs, The Middle & Modern Family and new shows Dr. Ken, The Muppets, The Real O'Neals and Uncle Buck.
