Casting News - Jon Bernthal Will Play The Punisher on 'Daredevil'; Michelle Monaghan to Lead 'The Way'; Plus 6 More Updates!

ABC's Once Upon a Time; Bravo's Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce; El Rey's From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series; HBO's Girls; Hulu's The Way; IFC's Benders; NBC's People Are Talking; and Netflix's Daredevil.




NBC's PEOPLE ARE TALKING
  • Vanessa Lachey (Dads) has been tapped to replace Meaghan Rath on the upcoming comedy. She will play the wife to the character played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar. Rath appeared in the original pilot but is not continuing on with the series because she was cast in second position to another comedy pilot which was also ordered to series (FOX's The Guide to Surviving Life).
BRAVO's GIRLFRIENDS' GUIDE TO DIVORCE
  • Will Kemp (Petals in the Wind) and Daniel Lissing (When Calls the Heart) have been cast in recurring roles on the drama's upcoming second season. Kemp will play Scott, a charismatic, handsome vegan baker at Jo's (Alanna Ubach) shop. Lissing will play Payton, an actor friend from Becca's (Julianna Guill) childhood.
EL REY's FROM DUSK TILL DAWN: THE SERIES
  • Singer-actress Demi Lovato (Camp Rock, The X Factor) will appear as a guest star on the drama's upcoming second season. No details were immediately made available about the character she will be playing.
ABC's ONCE UPON A TIME
  • Sean Maguire and Rebecca Mader have both been promoted to series regulars for the drama's upcoming fifth season. Both actors joined the fantasy series during the third season and have been recurring ever since. Maguire plays Robin Hood while Mader plays Zelena, the Wicked Witch.
IFC's BENDERS
  • Andrew Schulz, Lindsey Broad, Chris Distefano, Mark Gessner and Ruy Iskandar will lead the cast of the upcoming comedy series. Schulz will play Paul Rosenberg, the insecure leader whose involvement with the team causes daily havoc for him and his wife, Karen (Broad). Distefano will play Anthony, the charmer who schemes his way through life. Gessner will play Dicky, the wealthy hedge fund manager whose answer to everything is in his wallet. Iskandar will play Sebalos, the slacker on a misguided search for his purpose in life.
HULU's THE WAY
  • True Detective vet Michelle Monaghan has been tapped for the female lead on the upcoming drama created by Jessica Goldberg. She will play Sarah Cleary, a high-level member of a controversial faith-based movement navigating the truths and untruths colliding in her life.
HBO's GIRLS
  • Elementary co-stars Lucy Liu and Jonny Lee Miller will appear as heightened versions of themselves on an upcoming episode of the comedy's fifth season.
NETFLIX's DAREDEVIL
  • The Walking Dead alum Jon Bernthal has been cast in a key role on the drama's upcoming second season. He will play The Punisher, a vigilante who aims to clean up New York's Hell Kitchen by any means necessary, no matter how lethal the results.
