Casting News - Robbie Amell & Lauren Ambrose Join 'The X-Files'; 'You're the Worst' Returns in September; Plus 5 More Update!

ABC's American Crime; BBC America's The Last Kingdom; Bravo's Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce; FOX's Gotham & The X-Files; FXX's The League & You're the Worst; and NBC's Chicago Fire.




FXX's THE LEAGUE and YOU'RE THE WORST
  • The seventh and final season of The League and the second season of You're the Worst will premiere on Wednesday, September 9 at 10/9c. and 10:30/9:30c., respectively.
BBC AMERICA's THE LAST KINGDOM
  • The new drama series will debut its eight episode first season on Saturday, October 10 at 10/9c. The cast includes Alexander Dreymon, Rutger Hauer, Matthew Macfadyen, David Dawson, Emily Cox, Ian Hart, Tobias Santelmann, Thomas W. Gabrielsson, Peter Gantzler, Joseph Millson, Alexandre Willaume, Rune Temte and Henning Valin Jakobsen.
FOX's THE X-FILES
  • Robbie Amell (The Flash) and Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) will appear on the upcoming six episode revival of the hit drama. Amell will play Agent Miller who is described as smart and smooth. Ambrose will play Agent Einstein who is described as sharp and confident.
ABC's AMERICAN CRIME
  • Joey Pollari (Inbetweeners, Take It From Us) has booked a series regular role on the drama's upcoming second season. He will play Connor Blaine, a teen from a challenged background whose life is publicly torn apart following accusations made in the wake of a school party.
BRAVO's GIRLFRIENDS' GUIDE TO DIVORCE
  • Maury Sterling (Homeland), Megan Hilty (Smash) and Aaron Staton (Mad Men) have joined the cast of the drama's upcoming second season. Sterling will play Frumpkis, Jo's (Alanna Ubach) ex-husband who travels to L.A. to be closer to his daughter. Hilty will play Charlene, a southern belle and Frumpkis' new wife. Staton will play JD, a new love interest for one of the women.
NBC's CHICAGO FIRE
  • The Vampire Diaries alum Steven R. McQueen has landed a major recurring role on the drama's upcoming fourth season. He will play Jimmy Borelli, a new candidate at Firehouse 51 who makes a dramatic entrance on his first day at work that doesn't sit well with Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker).
FOX's GOTHAM
  • Emmy winner Michael Chiklis (The Shield) has been cast as a new series regular on the drama's upcoming second season. He will play Captain Nathaniel Barnes, who lands on the GCPD like a tornado, ripping out the dead wood of Gotham's police force. He is a law and order zealot unafraid of making enemies - on either side of the law. For Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Barnes is a hero and a mentor, someone with whom he can share the burden of heroism. Captain Barnes proves himself to be a strong ally to Gordon... but one day he will make an equally powerful enemy.
