Amazon's Untitled Tig Notaro Project; and USA's Brooklyn Animal Control & Paradise Pictures.





USA's BROOKLYN ANIMAL CONTROL
  • USA has given a pilot order to drama Brooklyn Animal Control based on the IDW Publishing comic book of the same name. The pilot will be written by comic book creator JT Petty, with David S. Goyer, Rick Jacobs, David Alpert, David Ozer and Ted Adams set to executive produce. Universal Cable Productions, Circle of Confusion and IDW Entertainment will produce. The project follows a secret subdivision of the NYPD that serves as a social services for the city's werewolves. The drama will explore the lives of the case officers and the secret, insular werewolf community Kveld Ulf who are living deep in the borough. The series will focus on city politics, immigrant communities and families divided by ambition, secrecy and tradition.
USA's PARADISE PICTURES
  • Georgina Reilly (The L.A. Complex), Daren Kagasoff (The Secret Life of the American Teenager) and Matthew Del Negro (Scandal) have been cast on the period drama pilot. Reilly will play Gretchen Whalon, a successful screenwriter at rival film studio RKO Pictures and ex-girlfriend of the head of production at Paradise Pictures, Tom Kirby (Morgan Spector). Kagasoff will play Wyatt Osborne, an assistant in the studio's editing department whose real goal is to be a director. Del Negro will play Ray Aberdeen, the head of security at Paradise Pictures, and Kirby's right-hand man.
AMAZON's UNTITLED TIG NOTARO PROJECT
  • Amazon has ordered a pilot for an untitled single camera comedy written by Tig Notaro and Oscar winner Diablo Cody. Additional executive producers include Louis C.K. and Dave Becky. Amazon Studios, FX Productions, Pig Newton and 3 Arts Entertainment will produce. In the series, a fictionalized Tig Notaro has just just recovered from an abdominal disease that has left her gaunt, wasted, exhausted and pretty much stripped of everything except her finely honed sense of the absurd. Abruptly summoned home to Pass Christian, Mississippi to take her ailing mother off life support, Tig finds herself dealing with her clingy girlfriend, her dysfunctional Gulf Coast family and the loss of the one person who held everything together.
