FOX's URBAN COWBOY
- The broadcast network has given an early pilot order to drama Urban Cowboy, a reimagining of the 1980 film starring John Travolta and Debra Winger. Craig Brewer is writing, directing and executive producing the pilot. Robert Evans, Sue Naegle and Chris Levinson are also executive producing. Paramount Television and 20th Century Fox Television will produce. The project follows star-crossed young lovers Kyle and Gaby as they pursue their dreams and passions through the sweat of line dancing in honky-tonks, the grime of the oil refineries and the glamour of modern Texas. It's about family legacies, starting over, finding true love and the American dream.
FX's SNOWFALL
- British newcomer Damson Idris has landed one of the lead roles on the drama pilot written and to be directed by John Singleton. He will play Franklin Saint, a young street entrepreneur on a quest for power. Born and raised on the streets of South Central but educated in an upper-class neighborhood in the Valley, he is determined to raise his station in life through whatever means necessary.
