Casting News - Brenda Strong to Recur on The CW's 'The 100'; ABC's 'black-ish' Adds Zendaya; Plus 7 More Updates!

ABC's black-ish, Blood and Oil & Scandal; The CW's The 100; FOX's The Grinder; Hulu's The Way; Netflix's Flaked; OWN's Greenleaf; and TNT's Major Crimes.




ABC's BLACK-ISH
  • Disney star Zendaya will guest star on an upcoming episode of the comedy's second season. She will play Rasheida, Zoey's (Yara Shahidi) fatherless friend who defers to Dre (Anthony Anderson) in his belief that fathers should be respected and heralded.
TNT's MAJOR CRIMES
  • Greg Rikaart (The Young and the Restless) has booked a recurring role on the drama's current fourth season. He will play Bobby G. Monroe, a confident young lawyer and anti-death penalty activist who is defending Slider (Garrett Coffey), the man awaiting trial for the murder of Alice Herrera.
HULU's THE WAY
  • Emma Greenwell (Love and Friendship) has joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan. She will play Mary Cox, an addict who is left with nothing after a tornado levels her rural town.
THE CW's THE 100
  • Brenda Strong (Desperate Housewives, Dallas) has been cast in a recurring role on the drama's upcoming third season. She will play Queen Nia of the Ice Nation, who has ruled her people for many years by being ruthless and savvy. She does what she must to maintain her power, even when it puts her at odds with those closest to her.
OWN's GREENLEAF
  • Lynn Whitfield, Merle Dandridge and Desiree Ross are the first to join the cast of the upcoming drama created by Craig Wright. Whitfield will play Lady Mae, Bishop Greenleaf's wife, an imperious and steely woman who loves money and power and will do absolutely anything to protect her position as the First Lady of Greenleaf World Ministries. Dandridge will play Grace, Lady Mae's estranged daughter, a disillusioned former preacher who returns home after fleeing her contentious family 20 years ago. Ross will play Sophia, Grace's teenage daughter who finds her new extended family and extravagant new surroundings a welcome change from her previously isolated, middle-class life in Phoenix.
FOX's THE GRINDER
  • Married star Nat Faxon will guest star on an upcoming episode of the new comedy starring Rob Lowe and Fred Savage. He will play Lyle Gerhart, an upper-crust Boise resident with deep pockets and connections.
NETFLIX's FLAKED
  • George Basil, Robert Wisdom and David Sullivan have joined the cast of the upcoming comedy series starring Will Arnett. Basil will play The Cooler, who has a passion for comedy but remains painfully unaware of what makes him funny. Wisdom will play George who loves teasing Chip (Arnett) and isn't afraid to abuse his police powers to do it, but is also a no-nonsense voice of reason. Sullivan will play Dennis, Chip's best friend, a man used to playing second fiddle to his popular pal.
ABC's SCANDAL
  • The Strain star Mia Maestro has booked a major recurring role on the drama's upcoming fifth season. Like much of the series' casting, no details were immediately made available about the character she will be playing.
ABC's BLOOD & OIL
  • Tara Karsian (Review) has been cast in a recurring role on the drama's upcoming first season. She will play a patron at a Western diner, unhappy about the slow service, who is not what she appears to be.
