SHOWTIME's PENNY DREADFUL
- Tony winner Patti LuPone will return to the drama's upcoming third season as a series regular. However, she will be playing a new character - Dr. Seward, an American therapist who treats Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) with an unconventional new approach. Also joining this season as guest stars are Shazad Latif (Spooks) as literary character Dr. Henry Jekyll; Christian Camargo (Dexter) as Dr. Alexander Sweet, a zoologist who strikes up an unlikely friendship with Vanessa; Sam Barnett (2012) as Dr. Seward's mysterious young secretary; Wes Studi (Hell on Wheels) as Kaetenay, an intense, enigmatic Native American with a deep connection to Ethan (Josh Hartnett) who becomes an ally to Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton); and Jessica Barden (The Outcast) as Justine, a young acolyte to Lily (Billie Piper) and Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney).
BET's BEING MARY JANE
- The hit drama series will return for its third season on Tuesday, October 20 at 9/8c. Additionally, Loretta Devine (Grey's Anatomy) and Jill Scott (With This Ring) have booked guest roles. Devine will play Cecilia, a bookstore owner whose car was hit by Mary Jane's (Gabrielle Union) vehicle in the Season 2 finale. Scott will play Jackie, Niecy's (Raven Goodwin) mother, who returns to town long enough to show her daughter some tough love.
NBC's SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE
- The late night sketch series has announced the first musical guests for its upcoming 41st season. On October 3, Miley Cyrus will serve as both host and musical guest. On October 10, Amy Schumer will host with The Weeknd as musical guest. On October 17, Tracy Morgan returns as host with Demi Lovato as the musical guest.
CBS' MADAM SECRETARY
- Eric Stoltz, who serves as a co-executive producer and has directed four episodes of the drama, will appear in a recurring role on the upcoming second season. He will play Peter, Elizabeth's (Téa Leoni) brother, a lifelong adventurer and risk-taker. He and Elizabeth have a history of conflict and are attempting to settle old scores when he comes to town for a visit.
NETFLIX's STRANGER THINGS
- Ross Partridge (Lamb) and Cara Buono (Person of Interest) have been cast opposite Winona Ryder on the upcoming period drama series. Partridge will play Lonnie, the disgruntled but charming ex-husband of Joyce (Ryder). Buono will play Karen, the mom of Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Nancy (Natalia Dyer).
CBS' HAWAII FIVE-0
- Falling Skies alum Sarah Carter has landed a recurring role on the drama's upcoming sixth season. She will play Lynn, a nature enthusiast and avid explorer McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) takes to a remote island on an adventurous first date where they stumble upon a criminal hideout that puts both of their lives in danger.
CBS' SUPERGIRL
- Iddo Goldberg (Salem, Tut) will appear on an upcoming episode of the drama's first season. He will play Dr. T.O. Morrow and his creation, the android Red Tornado. The android was designed by the scientist for the U.S. Army as the ultimate super weapon. But he soon becomes sentient and poses a grave danger to National City.
NETFLIX's LADY DYNAMITE
- Dean Cain (Lois & Clark, Hit the Floor) has booked a recurring role on the upcoming comedy series starring Maria Bamford. He will play Graham, an affable, friendly, somewhat clueless stuntman with bad credit who shows interest in buying Maria's (Bamford) house.
