CBS Gives Full Season Order to 'Limitless'

CBS has ordered nine additional episodes for the first season of new drama Limitless, bringing the season's total to 22 episodes. Additionally, the network has ordered six additional scripts for medical drama Code Black.

The drama stars Jake McDorman as a man who receives access to 100% of his brain's capacity when he takes the mysterious drug NZT. He uses that knowledge to help solve cases for the FBI.

Limitless also stars Jennifer Carpenter, Hill Harper and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, with guest stars Bradley Cooper, Ron Rifkin and Blair Brown.

Based on the movie of the same name starring Cooper, the series was developed by Craig Sweeny. He serves as executive produce with Cooper, Todd Phillips, Ryan Kavanaugh, Tucker Tooley, Tom Forman, Heather Kadin, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Marc Webb. CBS Television Studios, K/O Paper Products and Relativity Television produce.

The drama is currently averaging 11.4 million total viewers and a 2.4 rating once the most current DVR numbers are factored in.

Limitless is the first new series this fall to get an additional episode order at CBS. At the other networks, ABC's Quantico & Dr. Ken, NBC's Blindspot and FOX's Rosewood have been picked up for more episodes.
