USA's SHOOTER
- Shantel VanSanten (One Tree Hill, The Flash) has been cast on the drama pilot starring Ryan Phillippe. She will play Julie Swagger, the wife and best friend of Bob Lee Swagger (Phillippe). Her toughness and strength provided a stable home life for their daughter while her husband was deployed. Now that he is home, she works hard to create their life together which is shattered by events no one could have seen coming.
HBO's MAX
- The premium cable network has given a pilot order to single camera comedy Max written by Murray Miller, starring Lisa Joyce and to be directed by Lena Dunham. Additional executive producers include Jenni Konner and Ilene Landress. A Casual Romance Productions will produce. Set in 1963, the project centers on an ambitious magazine writer, Maxine Woodruff (Joyce), looking for liberation. She is an enthusiastic, if misguided, low-level magazine employee who stumbles into the forefront of a civil rights movement both she and the world may not be ready for.
ABC FAMILY's FAMOUS IN LOVE
- The cable network - soon to be known as Freeform - has ordered a pilot for drama Famous in Love written by I. Marlene King & Rebecca Serle and starring Bella Thorne. Dan Farah and directer Miguel Arteta will also executive produce. Serle is a co-executive producer. Warner Horizon Television, Long Lake Media, Farah Films and Carmina Productions will produce. Based on Serle's novel of the same name, Thorne stars as Paige, an ordinary college student who gets her big break after auditioning for the starring role in a Hollywood blockbuster. She must now navigate her new star-studded life and undeniable chemistry with her two co-leads while uncovering the truth about what happened to a famous missing pop star.
