BBC America has given a series order to original drama series Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, it was announced today from the Television Critics Association's winter press tour. The series order is for an 8-episode first season.
Based on Douglas Adams' graphic novels first published in 1987, the drama centers on the titular holistic detective who investigates cases involving the supernatural.
Max Landis will write the series. He will executive produce with Ted Adams, David Ozer, David Alpert, Rick Jacobs, Zainir Aminullah and Arvind Ethan David. AMC Studios, Ideate Media, IDW Entertainment and Circle of Confusion will produce.
