FOX's growing list of renewals continues this afternoon with the broadcast network ordering a sixth season for original comedy series New Girl.
"Every network comedy should aspire to what Liz Meriwether is achieving in New Girl, with its bravura dialogue, inventive and witty performances by the talented cast and emotionally engaging storytelling," said David Madden, Entertainment President, Fox Broadcasting Company. "The series is as creatively strong today as it ever was, we want to congratulate New Girl on reaching its milestone 100th episodes and we can't wait for the next subversive and hilarious chapter of these characters' lives."
The comedy stars Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, Lamorne Morris and Hannah Simone.
Liz Meriwether created the series, and serves as executive producer with Dave Finkel, Brett Baer, Katherine Pope, Peter Chernin and Jake Kasdan. Deschanel is a producer. 20th Century Fox Television and Chernin Entertainment produce.
