MTV has renewed its original drama series The Shannara Chronicles based on the books by Terry Brooks for a second season. The new season will debut in 2017.
The Shannara Chronicles follows a trio of heroes who embark on a quest to stop a demon army bent on destroying humanity's world.
The drama stars Poppy Drayton, Austin Butler, Ivana Baquero, Aaron Jakubenko, Manu Bennett and John Rhys-Davies.
Al Gough and Miles Millar developed the series. They executive produce with Jon Favreau, Jonathan Liebesman, Terry Brooks, Dan Farah, Stewart Till and Eugene Stein. MTV Productions, Sonar Entertainment, Millar Gough Ink and Farah Films produce.
