Netflix has given a series order to drama The Punisher, with Jon Bernthal reprising his role as Frank Castle from the second season of Daredevil. Additionally, Hannibal alum Steve Lightfoot will serve as executive producer and showrunner.

"Now combined with showrunner Steve Lightfoot's compelling writing, we're thrilled to bring The Punisher to Netflix."
"Jon hooked our global audience with his performance as Frank Castle from the moment he stepped on screen in Daredevil, and we are looking forward to seeing more of him in this role under the vision of Steve Lightfoot," said Cindy Holland, Vice President of Original Content, Netflix.
"For me, the complexity and unpredictability of Frank Castle make him an incredibly compelling character and I couldn't be more excited o dive into his world," said Lightfoot. The Punisher is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix. It marks the sixth series ordered as a part of a groundbreaking collaboration between Marvel and Netflix - including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Defenders.
