After having success with prequel series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp last summer, Netflix has picked up eight episodes of sequel series Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later - which will pick up the story 10 years after the 2001 film ended.
The new installment of the franchise will once again be written by Michael Showalter and David Wain, with the latter on board to direct as well. They will executive produce with Peter Principato, Jonathan Stern and Howard Bernstein.
No casting has been announced for Ten Years Later yet - though it seems likely that the series will once again be able to reunite the impressive cast that was assembled for the film and prequel series.
The main cast for First Day of Camp featured Elizabeth Banks, H. Jon Benjamin, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Nina Hellman, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Christopher Meloni, A.D. Miles, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, David Hyde Pierce, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Marisa Ryan, Jason Schwartzman, Molly Shannon, Michael Showalter and Kevin Sussman.
The franchise has also featured guest appearances by Lake Bell, Michael Cera, Josh Charles, Bruce Greenwood, Jon Hamm, Rob Huebel, Samm Levine, Jayma Mays, Randall Park, Jordan Peele, Chris Pine, Paul Scheer, Richard Schiff, John Slattery, David Wain, Michaela Watkins, Kristen Wiig and Weird Al Yankovic.
