TNT's CIVIL
- The cable network has ordered a pilot for drama Civil written by Scott Smith (A Simple Plan) and directed by Allen Coulter (Damages, Nurse Jackie). Thomas Kelly will serve as showrunner should the project be ordered to series. All three executive produce with Lloyd Braun. Andrew Mittman is a co-executive producer. TNT Originals, MGM Television and Whalerock Industries produce. The project takes place in the wake of a hotly contested Presidential election, as American finds itself plunging uncontrollably into a modern day Civil War. The series weaves together the personal stories of citizens from all walks of life, whose actions - amplified in an age of instant media - add fuel to the conflict and affect the fate of the entire country.
TNT's CLAWS
- Days after FOX passed on her comedy pilot The Enforcers, Niecy Nash (Getting On, The Soul Man) has booked a lead role on the dramedy pilot written by Eliot Laurence. She will play Desna Simms, the owner of the salon.
