Casting News - William Fichtner Upped to Regular on CBS' 'Mom'; Nick Offerman Joins FOX's 'Son of Zorn'; Plus 8 More Updates!

Amazon's Sneaky Pete; CBS' Mom; FOX's Scream Queens & Son of Zorn; HBO's The Deuce; Hulu's The Mindy Project & Shut Eye; Netflix's Haters Back Off; Showtime's Masters of Sex; and Syfy's The Magicians.




CBS' MOM
  • William Fichtner has been promoted to series regular on the comedy's upcoming fourth season. He appeared in four episodes of the third season as Adam, Bonnie's (Allison Janney) new boyfriend, a former stuntman who is now confined to a wheelchair. By the end of the season, they were trying to make a long distance relationship work after he took a job in Croatia as a movie stunt coordinator.
FOX's SON OF ZORN
  • Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation, Fargo) has joined the upcoming comedy as the voice of a new animated character. He will voice Dr. Klorpins, Zorn's (Jason Sudeikis) cave-dwelling doctor friend from the fantastical land of Zephyria.
FOX's SCREAM QUEENS
  • James Earl (Glee, Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life) has been cast as a new series regular on the horror comedy's upcoming second season. He will play Candy Striper. No additional details were immediately made available.
HULU's THE MINDY PROJECT
  • The hit comedy series will return for its fifth season on Tuesday, October 4. The streaming service has also confirmed that the new season will include 16 total episodes. It's unclear if they will all be released a weekly basis or if they be split into two half runs.
HULU's SHUT EYE
  • There has been a change to the premiere date plans for the upcoming drama starring Jeffrey Donovan. Originally set to debut on August 31, the premiere has been pushed back a couple of months to Wednesday, December 7. The new drama also stars KaDe Strickland, Isabella Rossellini, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Susan Misner, Angus Sampson and David Zayas.
NETFLIX's HATERS BACK OFF
  • The 8-episode first season of the new comedy starring YouTube personality Colleen Ballinger-Evans will debut on Friday, October 14. The comedy also stars Erik Stocklin, Angela Kinsey and Steve Little.
HBO's THE DEUCE
  • Ralph Macchio (The Karate Kid, A Room of My Own) has booked a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal. He will play Officer Haddix, a jaded vice cop patrolling Times Squares as a part of the corrupt police force of 1970s New York.
AMAZON's SNEAKY PETE
  • Virginia Kull (Gracepoint) has landed a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Giovanni Ribisi. She will play Katie Boyd, who used to run cons with Pete (Ribisi). She has left hat life and is now married with an adopted daughter, living a life of normalcy until Pete shows up on her doorstep asking for her help.
SYFY's THE MAGICIANS
  • Brittany Curran (Chicago Fire, Twisted) has been cast in a recurring role on the drama's upcoming second season. She will play Fen, Eliot's (Hale Appleman) Fillorian wife.
SHOWTIME's MASTERS OF SEX
  • David Walton (About a Boy, New Girl) has joined the drama's upcoming fourth season in a recurring role. He will play Abe Perlman, Masters (Michael Sheen) and Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) high-powered attorney in a case that pits science against the State. A man who's represented the Black Panthers and Weathermen, he loves a good legal battle but loves a highly publicized one even more. Charming and handsome, he'd be considered cocky if he didn't have the brilliant legal mind to back up his formidable reputation.
