Syfy Renews 'Wynonna Earp' for Season 2

Syfy has renewed its original drama series Wynonna Earp for a second season, it was announced today during the show's panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Season 2 will debut in 2017 and consist of 10 episodes, down from the first season's 13.





Based on the comic book series of the same name, Wynonna Earp follows Wyatt Earp's great granddaughter as she battles demons and other supernatural beings. Wynonna is a witty and wild modern-day gunslinger, using her unique abilities and a dysfunctional posse of allies to bring the paranormal to justice.

The drama stars Melanie Scrofano, Tim Rozon, Shamier Anderson, Dominique Provost-Chalkley and Michael Eklund.

Emily Andras developed the series. She executive produces with Brian Dennis, Ted Adams, David Ozer, Rick Jacobs, Todd Berger, Jordy Randall and Tom Cox. IDW Entertainment and SEVEN24 Films produce.

The 13-episode first season averaged 556,000 total viewers.
