CBS' Superior Donuts and TV Land's Heathers.
TV LAND's HEATHERS
- The cable network has given a pilot oder to comedic anthology Heathers based on the 1988 film of the same name. Jason Micallef wrote the pilot, which will be directed by Leslye Headland. They executive produce with Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi. Lakeshore Entertainment will produce. The first season will feature a new set of popular-yet-evil Heathers - only this time the outcasts have become high school royalty. Heather McNamara is a black lesbian; Heather Duke is a male who identifies as gender-queer whose real name is Heath; and Heather Chandler has a body like Martha Dumptruck.
CBS' SUPERIOR DONUTS
- Katey Sagal (Sons of Anarchy, Married... With Children) has been cast on the new pilot for the potential comedy series. She will play Randy, a practical street cop for whom Superior Donuts is part of her beat. She's been on the force a long time and nothing fazes her. She will appear as a guest star considering she is in second position to another CBS comedy pilot, Furst Born. However, she has a series regular option. So, it's expected for her to continue should the project move on to series.
